Zoe is a short name with a capital Z that goes below the line. The Z loop leads into the o, and the o leaves from the top into the e. The three letters have three different shapes, so the name is more varied than it looks.

Letter by letter
Each distinct letter in "Zoe" has its own stroke-by-stroke page.
The joins in Zoe
- Zo: The Z exit rises into the o, which closes at the top. Keep the o round and at midline height.
- oe: The o leaves from the top, so a short level bridge runs into the e. Make a small loop and close it.
Tricky spots
- The Z descender: Keep the loop narrow and closed at the baseline.
- Bridge from o to e: If the bridge drops, the e looks detached.
- Small e: Give the e a clear loop so it is not mistaken for an i.
- Writing Zoe in one stroke: Once the Z is done, o and e are written in one stroke with no lift. The name is short, so keep every letter close to the same size and finish with a small tail.
The capital Z
Capital Z looks like a slanted 2 on top: a hooked curve across the upper half that comes down to a small loop on the baseline, followed by a descender loop below the baseline. It connects, and the exit rises into the o. Leave room under the line.
Zoe as a signature
Z is a showpiece letter, so you can enlarge the Z and let the descender loop sweep back under the o and e. Keep the e clear.
Short forms of Zoe
Zoe is a short name and does not have a common shorter form. Some spell it Zoey, which adds a y with a descender loop.
As a tattoo
The Z loop needs room and an open interior. Keep the bridge from o to e visible.

Copy-paste versions of Zoe
Script 𝒵ℴℯ and bold script 𝓩𝓸𝓮 are generated by code from the Unicode mathematical script blocks, so you can paste either one anywhere that accepts Unicode text. Two of Zoe's three letters are borrowed in plain script: the o is ℴ (U+2134) and the e is ℯ (U+212F), leaving only the capital 𝒵 from the main block. That makes mismatches likely on some fonts. Use the bold script string when you want all three glyphs to match.
